You Deserve it!

📷

Im sure you heard the phrase ” You deserve it ” when it relates to buying a clothing item, new car or home, shoes or a vacation.

This saying or tactic can get you in a lot of trouble, especially financially.

We all feel at times in our life that we deserve way more than what we have right now or more than our pay checks can afford.

But this entitlement attitude  is a very dangerous frame of mind to be in.  Yes, we all work hard and feel like showering ourselves with gifts because  if we don’t then who will.

I remember in the past seeing others with new things and lots of stuff, I would feel sad or even depressed that I also did not have all those things.  I would think, I  serve God and have dedicated my life to Him so why am I not living the good life.

There were even teachings going around that you should buy what you want and after you bought it God would meet the need for it.

This type of belief has screwed up  many people even broken up relationships and lead people to bankruptcy,  just to make it look like on the outside that they were prosperous and “blessed”.

Our own country has seen what greed will do from the ” I deserve it now I want it now” mentality.

I like how the bible speaks about our needs in life:

Matthew 6:26-34

26 Look at the birds! They don’t worry about what to eat—they don’t need to sow or reap or store up food—for your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are. 27 Will all your worries add a single moment to your life?

28 “And why worry about your clothes? Look at the field lilies! They don’t worry about theirs. 29 Yet King Solomon in all his glory was not clothed as beautifully as they. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won’t he more surely care for you, O men of little faith?

31-32 “So don’t worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, 33 and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to.

34 “So don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.

Lets all learn to live within our means and work towards the things we want to have in life.  As we continue to seek Him first and  give to God’s work and save for our own dreams we will see God do the miraculous because of our faithfulness.

As we make a plan to save for our new home or car…etc, pray to God to meet that need we will not have to worry, doubt or try to keep up with the jones’s.

Today take the weight off yourself to “have it all” to prove anything.

Lets put our faith and trust in God because He did think  we deserved the very best  that;s why He sent us His son Jesus, let’s be grateful and thankful for where we are right now in life.

What are some ways God has been dealing with your life about material  possession’s and how are you planning for the things you are believing God for?
